Committees

CHIME committees develop and manage many programs and initiatives that advance the organization’s mission and success. These participating industry leaders are responsible for the tactical direction and activities that provide value to our members in areas like education, certification, recognition, public policy and membership.

CHCIO Advisory Board
Sets guidelines for the CHCIO program including the criteria and approval of applicants

Details

Committee member responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with the CHCIO program, including steps in program development, communication and approval
  • Lead sections of the CHCIO exam development process
  • Review the CHCIO blueprint to match current CIO responsibilities with the blueprint’s expectations
  • Review requests for exceptions to the CHCIO application and set passing points for the CHCIO exam

CHCIO Development & Exam Review Committee
Develops and builds CHCIO exam

Details

Committee member responsibilities:

 

  • Be familiar with the goals and expectations of the CHCIO program, including the CHCIO blueprint
  • Keep up with trends in industry technology and leadership and offer expertise in an area of the CHCIO blueprint
  • Create CHCIO exam questions that match the CHCIO blueprint (Item Development Committee only)
  • Select newly developed exam questions and produce the final exam (Exam Review Committee Only)

CHIME Foundation Certified Healthcare Executive (CFCHE) Development Committee
Assists CHIME Foundation firms with their benefits utilization

Details

Committee member responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with the goals and expectations of the CFCHE program, including the CFCHE Blueprint
  • Keep up with trends in industry technology, leadership, and relationship management and offer expertise in all areas of the CFCHE Blueprint
  • Create CFCHE exam questions that match the CFCHE Blueprint
  • Select newly developed exam questions and update the CFCHE exam

CHIME Partner Education Summit (CPES) Planning Committee
Assists with planning the annual CHIME Foundation conference held each fall

Details

Committee member responsibilities:

  • Identify current industry topics, trends and challenges that will shape the program agenda/topics
  • Identify and evaluate keynote and CHIME member speaker candidates
  • Assist with the promotion of the event amongst CHIME Foundation firms

CIO Liaison Program
Assists CHIME Foundation firms with their benefits utilization

Details

Liaison responsibilities:

 

  • Understand the basics of the CHIME Foundation (firms, benefits, impact/importance)
  • Serve as an educational/informational resource for one to two CHIME Foundation firms
  • Understand CIO focus group best practices
  • Provide Fall CIO Forum track session proposal guidance
  • Advise College LIVE topics/presentations
  • Participate in quarterly calls/emails with assigned Foundation firm(s)
  • Commit to the program for one calendar year, with an option to continue service each year

Fall CIO Forum Planning Committee
Assists with planning our annual conference held each fall

Details

Committee member responsibilities:

 

  • Identify current industry topics, trends and challenges that will shape the Forum’s education program
  • Recommend keynote speaker candidates through discussion and the completion of surveys
  • Recommend plenary and sunrise topics and speakers through discussion and the completion of surveys
  • Review Track Session proposals and select the proposals that will be invited to the Forum
  • Review Leadership from the Edge proposals and select the proposals that will be invited to the Forum

Membership Development Committee
Engages current and potential members of CHIME

Details

Committee member responsibilities:

 

  • Understand the current membership criteria and requirements for individual membership
  • Contribute to the growth and engagement of the CHIME CIO membership via peer-to-peer recruitment
  • Participate in quarterly committee calls and one in-person event held in Fall
  • Spread the CHIME mission and vision when speaking or presenting at events
  • Assist in the development of peer-to-peer recruitment campaigns
  • Drive and create traffic to CHIME exhibits during tradeshows
  • Maintain relationships and be available to new members at in-person events
  • Attend one bi-monthly new member orientation call to serve as greeter and discuss benefits

Public Policy Steering Committee
Discusses timely policy issues and helps shape CHIME’s responses to congressional and regulatory inquiries

Details

Committee member responsibilities:

 

  • Review proposed regulations impacting healthcare IT and assist in developing responses to federal agencies
  • Review legislation and assist in developing CHIME’s response to congressional committees
  • Provide direction on CHIME’s overall advocacy efforts
  • Facilitate communication between CHIME and industry regluatory bodies during policy review

Scholarship Committee
Reviews scholarship applications and selects winners

Details

Committee member responsibilities:

 

  • Understand the current scholarship criteria and requirements for each of the available scholarships
  • Contribute to the development of the scholarship application review process
  • Participate in quarterly committee calls
  • Spread the CHIME Education Foundation mission and vision at appropriate speaking engagements
  • Assist in the development of potential new scholarship funds
  • Review and rank score CHIME Education Foundation scholarships
  • Provide recommendation on scholarship recipients to the CHIME Education Foundation Board

CHIME Diversity Committee
Works to connect members around Diversity and Inclusion issues and to identify best practices in the healthcare IT space

Details

Committee member responsibilities:

  • Survey CHIME members and Foundation firms to establish benchmarks in Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and practices in provider and vendor organizations
  • Identify current industry gaps and challenges 
  • Curate and disseminate best practices to be shared amongst the CHIME membership base
